To prevent the spread of coronavirus, Community radio Alfaz-e-Mewat FM 107.8 (an initiative of S M Sehgal Foundation) with support from UNICEF and Community Radio Association willbegin the broadcast of a radio series “Mission Corona” from June 18, 2020.The series will be done by more than 150 community radio stations across India in local dialects and regional languages to share essential information on COVID-19.
The 10-episode radio series focuses on Coronavirus Symptoms, self-care, home quarantine, food and nutrition during COVID, and others.The objective of the series is to inform the community about the virus, its causes and effects so that a circle of prevention can be created among the community to abate the infection. “The program will engage listeners through live discussion after every episode so that the community can share their views and voice localissues.Local folk music on the episode topics will not only provide an element of entertainment in the programs but would also reinforce the information in an easy way for a better recall by the listeners,” said Pooja O Murada, Director, S M Sehgal Foundation.
“Mission Corona”will be broadcast on Alfaz-e-Mewat Every Thursday at 11:30 AM and repeat broadcast at 7:35PM..
Alfaz-e-Mewat first started airing awareness programs on coronavirus in the beginning of February 2020. . The radio station reaches 225 villages of Nuh district, Haryana and is playing an instrumental role in informing communities through its two-hour daily broadcast focused on COVID-19, including programs on fake news, interviews with psychologists and doctors on well-being, and information from My gov.in corona samvaad.
