India Association of Minnesota (IAM), based in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, recently honored Jay Sehgal, head of Sehgal Foundation’s US operations, with a Person of the Year award for his efforts to arrange delivery of much-needed equipment and supplies to rural India to help mitigate the harmful effects of COVID. Unable to attend the ceremony in person, Jay asked friends and advisors, Anoop and Preeti Mathur, to accept the award on his behalf and read the following message of thanks:
I am profoundly grateful for the shared values of India Association of Minnesota and Sehgal Foundation. Everyone at Sehgal Foundation is grateful and humbled by the support of IAM and all the partners who came together when the communities in rural India were in such dire need due to the second wave of the COVID pandemic.
It is because of our partnership that Sehgal Foundation teams were able to deliver 70 oxygen concentrators, worth over $95,000, where the need was greatest, which helped save many lives and created an unfolding impact that continues in the village communities.
Thank you for this very kind acknowledgment of our shared commitment. And thank you to all the IAM partners who helped empower the rural communities in India. Together, we are making a big difference in the lives of those in need.
Sehgal Foundation salutes IAM for their commitment to India and the greater Minneapolis community, and congratulates Jay and thanks him for his hard work and impeccable leadership during very trying times!
