S M Sehgal Foundation presented an interface meeting between government department officials and villagers under the “Gram Uday – 7 Project” in Nuh, Haryana. Seventy village leadership school members, community members from fifteen villages, and various government representatives participated. This meeting provided a platform for villagers to interact with officials and discuss government programs.
Representatives from the Animal Husbandry Department offered information and techniques for better cattle management practices and the benefits of animal insurance schemes. Officials from the Public Health and Engineering Departments shared information with the villagers on the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal scheme, and representatives from the District Welfare Department shared information about the pension scheme (old age, widow, and disability pensions) among others, so that the benefits of government schemes could reach more people.
Community members communicated their concerns and queries concerning how to access the benefits from various schemes associated with these departments.
S M Sehgal Foundation representatives shared information about the Citizen Information and Support Centre and its toll-free number, 1800-120-2575, wherein people attain more information about various government programs.
