Sixty-five “philanthropic investors” attended a Sehgal Foundation event in Estero, Florida, on February 9, and came close to their $250,000 fundraising goal for 2019.
Sehgal Foundation Executive Vice President Jay Sehgal served as host of the event and presenters included former CEO, S M Sehgal Foundation, India, Jane Schukoske who talked about her five years in that role and the resulting hope she saw with rural development; Olivia Tidwell and Natasha Hill who shared what they learned in their internships with Sehgal Foundation in India; and donors who described how their own philanthropic visions matched with Sehgal Foundation. Susan and Jim Berg gave an emotional account of the powerful Life Skills Education work with girls that they saw firsthand in the villages while visiting Sehgal Foundation in India.
After inspiring words from Dr. Suri Sehgal and Mrs. Edda Sehgal, Dr. Subhash Kshetrapal (Dr. Pal) appealed for donations to Sehgal Foundation. The $225,000 raised in one evening and matched 1:1 by Suri & Edda Sehgal equaled $450,000, which is already at work in school projects undertaken by Sehgal Foundation teams in India. Heartfelt thanks to all who attended and to the Florida Chapter members for their help in organizing this inspiring event.
