The theme for this year’s Yoga Day, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: One Earth, One Family, One Future, highlights the essence of universal well-being and emphasizes the significance of nurturing the health of every individual, irrespective of any distinctions, through regular yoga practice. By embracing yoga as a holistic lifestyle choice, individuals can unlock numerous physical and mental health benefits, contributing to the formation of a healthy and thriving society.
To actively participate in the International Yoga Day campaign, community radio Alfaz-e-Mewat FM 107.8, an initiative of the S M Sehgal Foundation, joined hands with the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, and the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA). The collaboration was created to advocate for the benefits of integrating yoga into everyday life.
The station has used various communication channels, such as jingles, inspirational messages, and the dissemination of short yoga programs through WhatsApp groups and social media platforms. In addition, a live phone-in program with yoga experts, Mr. Lal Singh and Mr. Manak Chand from Nuh, empowered listeners to become avid learners and practitioners of yoga.
The radio station narrowcasts yoga programs in villages of Nuh, Haryana, to ensure that the information reaches specific target audiences. By employing these comprehensive communication strategies, the radio station inspires interest, ignites curiosity, and encourages the wider adoption of yoga for the betterment of society.
In Nuh, Haryana, about seventy individuals have registered training for the online certificate course on Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) training. Those who participated in the 2023 CYP program on IDY have been acknowledged as Yoga volunteers by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The objective is to enhance the availability of qualified professionals who can guide and support individuals in their yoga journeys.
Yoga, deeply rooted in India’s rich heritage, offers immense benefits for individuals, promoting holistic well-being and fostering a healthy and fit society. Through the collaborative efforts of Alfaz-e-Mewat FM 107.8, the Ministry of Ayush, and CEMCA, the Yoga campaign on International Yoga Day aimed to ignite a passion for yoga, spread awareness, and empower individuals to embrace this transformative practice.
